SEMINARS. CONFERENCES
 

 

FORUM organises regular conferences, seminars, including international. The goal of meetings is to bring policy makers, scholars, and activists together to share information, discuss recent developments, and identify ways to strengthen democracy. Among conference themes are civil society and democratic development, managing internal conflicts in new democracies, political decentralization and its implications for local democracy.  
- an International Conference on "New Apporoaches to Conflict Diagnostic. Local Factors, Leading to Socio-Economic Instability in Russia" held in Moscow (Chernogolovka Academic Center) on 18-20 March 1995;  
- an International Conference on "Conflict Prevention and Conflict Resolution in the Former Soviet Union" held in Moscow on 5-6 February 1996;  
- a practical Seminar based on brainstorming on the Chechen War and Human Rights held in Moscow on 8 April 1996;  
- an International Conference on "Rethinking Social Development. Stability and Destabilization in Modern Society" held in Moscow on 25-26 April 1996.  
- an International Conference on "Human Security, Governance, Change and Values" held in Moscow (Snegiri) on 14-15 February 1997;  
- an International Conference on "Transcaucasus - North Caucasus: Stability Problems and Development Perspectives" held in Sochi (Russia) on 24-26 October 1997;  
- an International Conference on "The Black Sea - Caspian Sea Axis: Cooperation and Conflict" held in Yalta (Ukraina) 22-24 May 1998.
